Cocktails anyone?
I am on my daughter's Macintosh upstairs and her keyboard is kinda' freaking me out (hair-trigger mouse), AND it's just past cocktail hour on a Friday evening, but I will do my best. I had things I needed to get done today, but instead I shopped for and found some fabulous fabric for a little handbag I have in mind. Crewel accents, beaded handles, space age print, mango-colored silk lining, perhaps a tassel or two -- the laundry is just going to have to fold itself, I guess.
We have invited friends over for dinner tomorrow night, so I'll run around here straightening at the last minute, all so we can pretend we don't REALLY live this way (tee hee). On the menu: ratatouille, mousaka, homemade potato rolls and tiramisu. Oh, and a tabouleh to start. Unconventional mix, I admit, but top it all off with a nice red wine and it'll be great.
I keep raving over people's blogs, but ohmygod, what a breath of fresh air for me! I am an early-riser (5 a.m.), and I am spending my "alone" time reading these amazing journals. I know I seem like a total geek here, but I am the quintessential kid in a candy shop, with eyes widened and mouth agape. Blog on, you marvelous bloggers!

Wow! I want to come for dinner at your house. I hope you put pics up soon of your art. Your purse sounds amazing. Reading these blogs definately re-charges the batteries. I'm at work now, we're crazy busy in the ER, and I'm taking my 15 minute break hiding in someones office catching up on my blog reading. Rock on!
Have a great time tomorrow night. I work, so I'll be thinking of you amongst all these sick, and gory patients....hehe, just a little ER humor here.

My husband just upgraded our computer, so I either can't find anything, or it's on another hard drive altogether. So as soon as I get my @#$% organized, I will post some pix of my stuff. I have some paintings I have done recently, miscellaneous knitted things and hopefully that purse before too long. I have shopped early for my dinner party tonight, and I am whipping up food as I write (multi-tasker!), so that I can scramble around with a vacuum cleaner and a trash bag and get on that handbag! Have fun at work... We'll have a glass of wine for you, Val, and a heaping plate of tiramisu, as we remember you in the ER this evening. --Zoe
I hope you had a great dinner party. We had an especially crazy night in the ER. Four trauma yellows, one trauma red that should have been airlifted but the weather was too bad for the helicopter to fly, one cardiac arrest, and one of the worst leg lacerations that I've ever seen, on an eigth grader. Whew! One more night then I have 10 days vacation. I'd like to say that I'm going to work on my art, but we're going to replace the 25 year old (seriously!) carpet in our bedroom/art studio with pergo, thanks to our tax refund. So it's a vacation full of manual labor, but will be so much better than the 1980's rust brown, stinky shaggy stuff that's here now. Have a restfull and art-filled Sunday!

5 in the morning????
I didn't know there was such an hour...
I followed you from Rusty Pearl cuz we keep simular hours. Nobody gets up at 5 AM unless there is a drill sargeant threatening dismemberment but I just wake up at 5 like a spring daisy every morning and it drives my family nuts. So I'm glad there is someone else in the world who gets up early! Glad to meet you.
